St. Norbert parish has a very special relationship with Bethesda Project, a ministry to the homeless in Philadelphia. Its mission is “to be family for those who have none.” Since Fr. Domenic Rossi (the founder and current executive director of this ministry) became our pastor, we have come to share more intensely in this mission. Bethesda Project serves hundreds of the most vulnerable men and women in the city in 12 facilities ranging from shelters to permanent “family type” residences.
We collect underwear, undershirts, socks and travel sizes toiletries which are distributed at the shelters to the homeless in the City. These may be dropped off any time in the Outreach Closet in the Church Narthex.
On Outreach weekend, we also collect new and gently used towels, twin sized bedding, and blankets. Men's jeans and pants are also needed. Please place in a plastic bag and drop off in the Parish Activity Center on the first weekend of the month only! Please mark the bags for Bethesda Project.
