What is Baptism?

Jesus was baptized and taught his Apostles to do likewise. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God. We become members of the Body of Christ as we are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission. We can’t wait to welcome your child into the life of Christ and our Church through Baptism. To get started, please fill out the baptism inquiry form and our team will reach out to you.

How do I register for baptism?

You will need to fill out a baptism inquiry form above. You will be contacted with information regarding our baptism preparation program and scheduling your child’s baptism.

You will need to fill out a baptism inquiry form above. You will be contacted with information regarding our baptism preparation program and scheduling your child’s baptism. 

Are there requirements for the parents?

If this is your first child being baptized Catholic, Parents and Godparents (if available) are to attend a Baptism Prep class.  These classes are offered once a month and are approximately an hour long held via Zoom. 

Do parents need to be members of the parish?

No, you do not need to be members of the parish, but we hope you join us after this experience.  

When are baptisms held?

We celebrate baptisms on the 3rd weekend of each month during our weekend Masses. The Mass with Baptism rotates monthly among the 5:00 p.m. Saturday vigil, 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sunday morning Masses. 

Can we have our own priest perform the baptism?

Yes.  When you fill out the baptism inquiry, please advise that is what you want to do. They will need special permission. 

FAQs for Godparents
Are there requirements for the godparents?
  • Be Sixteen years of age or older;
  • Be a Catholic who has received the Sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and the Blessed Eucharist. If married, Married in the Catholic Church;
  • Belong to a Catholic parish community and participate regularly in Sunday Mass and receive Communion;
  • Present a godparent sponsor eligibility letter from their parish;
  • The maximum number of godparents is 2;
  • There must be one male and one female godparent.

How old can a godparent be?

All godparents must be 16 years of age or older. 

Can there be more than 2 godparents?

No, there can only be 2 official godparents. One male and one female. However, a family can choose to just have one godparent. 

What if a godparent is out of town and cannot make the baptism?

You can have a godparent by proxy.  Please indicate this on the baptism inquiry form. 

Can I request a Godparent Sponsor eligibility letter for a baptism?

Yes! Please, please contact the parish office.

First Communion Parent Workshop
Date: Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Location: Church Oratory

First Communion Retreat
Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025 – 8:30AM – 12 noon
Parent and child attend together; breakfast provided.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion at St. Norbert
Date: Saturday, May 3, 2025
9:00AM for St. Norbert School
11:00AM for Standard CaFFE Program and Family Program

Rehearsal for First Communion:
Date: Thursday, May 1, 2025
5 – 6 P.M. for St Norbert School and CaFFE Family Program Students
6 – 7 P.M. for Standard CaFFE Students and Spanish Mass Students

Confirmation for the students preparing in the 2024-2025

Confirmation for the students preparing in the 2024-2025 Year will be held in the Fall of 2025

As a part of this preparation, there are two mandatory requirements:

  • A Confirmation Retreat for the students held in the Fall of 2025
    Confirmation Rehearsal for students AND sponsors held in the Fall of 2025
  • These dates will be communicated immediately once determined by the Archdiocese.

Our Light the Night: Evening of Praise, Worship & Adoration

Our Light the Night: Evening of Praise, Worship & Adoration is held every other month on the First Friday at St. Norbert Church. You are encouraged to invite others to attend-- All are welcome! Hospitality is offered after each night of worship.
